OREGON FIRE APPARATUS & EQUIPMENT MECHANICS ASSOCIATION
BOARD OF DIRECTORS MEETING
December 29, 2012
SILVERTON FIRE DISTRICT SILVERTON, OREGON

CALL TO ORDER: Meeting called to Order at 12:30 by President David Clark.

ATTENDANCE: David Clark, President
      Tom Ward, 2nd Vice President
      Rick Fletcher, 1 Year Director
      Matt Sims, 2 Year Director
      Art Blaisdell, Past President
      Tony Miller, Executive Director
      Kerry Bohanan, Life Member

Dave Crawford, Richard Copenhaver, and Quirt Lancaster were excused from the meeting.

MINUTES: A motion was made and seconded to approve previous minutes. Passed.

PRESIDENTS REPORT: None

EXECUTIVE DIRECTOR REPORT: Tony got a phone call from local fire marshal asking if tents are going to be used at the school this year. Tony told the fire marshal that we don’t use tents and that we will let them know if we are going to us tents. Got contact information on Matt Sims the new board member for listing it on the web site.

FINANCIAL REPORT: Got the US Bank banking problem fixed.

SCHOLARSHIP COMMITTEE: Rick will be getting hold of Dave Crawford about the statues of the scholarship.

EDUCATION COMMITTEE: working on the class schedule, need ladder truck for Anthony Bulygo class, Matt will check on scales for same class. Bruce Amacker classes that he teaches discussed on what class we would like to have this year. Richard Copenhaver has contacted a Florida instructor to do A/C session, awaiting cost factor from him. Dick Rhodes from Salem Air Gas will do the welding class. Lincoln welding also an interest of the board, Tom will contact them about their trailer. Keith Klassen teaching EVT F-7 Foam Systems. Hale Pumps & accessories by Bryce Anderson. Class 1 Multi-Plexing & electronics by chuck Hutchins. Pump Testing by Don Gleason. The Education committee is working on many more class for the school.


VENDORS COMMITTEE: Review of the vendor’s paperwork being developed. Remove the & from the title on the form.


OLD BUSINESS: some discussion was had regarding getting some more mileage out of our information video, by linking it to the OFAEMA website, and making it also known in the other daily items like the Daily Dispatch, Chief’s website, and gated wye. We should be able to secure some more students perhaps if the video were actually viewed by the chiefs and or other mechanics/shop supervisors.
