Emergency Vehicle Technician Certification
The Emergency Vehicle Technician Certification Commission, Inc. (EVT) is a nonprofit corporation dedicated to improving the quality of emergency vehicle service and repair throughout the United States and Canada. The primary function of EVT is to test and certify Emergency Vehicle Technicians. Fire Apparatus Technician Exams:

F-1 Maintenance, Inspection & Testing
This exam covers the maintenance, inspection and testing of Fire Apparatus as described in NFPA 1911, Standard for the Inspection, Maintenance, Testing and Retirement of In-Service Fire Apparatus.

F-2 Design & Performance Standards and Preventative Maintenance of Fire Apparatus
This exam covers the standards for fire apparatus as described in NFPA 1901, Standard for Automotive Fire Apparatus, and in NFPA 1911, Standard for the Inspection, Maintenance, Testing and Retirement of In-Service Automotive Fire Apparatus.

F-3 Fire Pumps and Accessories
This exam covers the standards as described in NFPA 1901, Standard for Automotive Fire Apparatus.  In NFPA 1911, Standard for the Inspection, Maintenance, Testing and Retirement of In-Service Automotive Fire Apparatus.

F-4 Fire Apparatus Electrical Systems
This exam covers the basic design and performance requirements of fire apparatus electrical systems, components of electrical systems, and preventive maintenance and troubleshooting activities.

FA-4 Advanced Electrical Systems
Technicians must be certified in F-4 or E-2 Electrical before taking this advanced exam.  This exam covers advanced electrical systems, including load managers, strobe systems, digital controls, multiplexing, line voltage generating systems of emergency vehicles.
 
F-5 Aerial Fire Apparatus

This exam covers the standards as described in NFPA 1901, Standard for Automotive Fire Apparatusand NFPA 1911, Standard for the Inspection, mMaintenance, Testing and Retirement of In-Service Automotive Fire Apparatus.

F-6 Allison Automatic Transmissions
This exam covers the servicing and maintenance, diagnostics and troubleshooting of Allison Automatic Transmissions AT, MT & HT series

F-7 Foam Systems

EMS Ambulance Technician Exams:

E-0 Maintenance Inspection & Testing
This exam covers the Maintenance, Inspection and Testing of Ambulances as covered in KKK-A-A822 Federal Specification for the Star of Life Ambulance, Meritor Preventive Maintenance and Lubrication and NFPA 1911, Standard for the Inspection, Maintenance, Testing and Retirement of In-Service Fire Apparatus.

E-1 Design & Performance Standards and Preventative Maintenance of Ambulances
This exam covers the general design and performance standards for ambulances as described in KKK-A-1822E, Federal Specification for the Star-of-Life Ambulance and general principals of preventive maintenance and servicing..

E-2 Ambulance Electrical Systems
This exam covers the basic design and performance requirements of ambulance electrical systems, components of electrical systems, and preventive maintenance and troubleshooting activities.

E-3 Ambulance Heating, Air Conditioning, & Ventilation Systems
This exam covers the basic design, requirements and components of these systems.

E-4 Ambulance Body & Chassis
This exam covers the requirements for the systems that are unique to ambulances, as well as common chassis components.

AARF Vehicle Technician Exams:

A-1 Design & Peformance Standards and Preventative Maintenance of Aircraft Rescue and Fire-Fighting Vehicles
This exam covers the general design and performance standards for ARFF vehicles as described in FAA Advisory Circular 10c Guide Specifications foe Water/Foam Aircraft Rescue and Fire-Fighting Vehicles, and the general principles of preventive maintenance and servicing.

A-2 Chassis & Vehicle Components of Aircraft Rescue and Fire-Fighting Vehicles
This exam covers the operation and testing of the chassis and vehicle components of ARFF vehicles. The operation of the vehicle systems and components as well as inspections, maintenance, and repair of those components are covered in this exam.

A-3 Extinguishment Systems of Aircraft Rescue and Fire-Fighting Vehicles
This exam covers basic design, requirements and components of these systems.

Law Enforcement Vehicle Technician Exams:

L-1 Law Enforcement Vehicle Installation
This examm covers design and performance standards, installation of the specilized systems and equipment and the accepted practices used in the service and maintenance of Law Enforcement Vehicles. 

Management Certification Exams:

M-1 Level 1 Supervisor
M-2 Level 2 Supervisor

The Fleet Management exams are based on the principals published by the Association of Equipment Management Professionals (AEMP) in The Career Equipment Fleet Manager.
